Likhaa.com genesis !

Was taking a Full-stack course with a batch of 200 students back in 2022. Saw this weird mental obstacle in few students who were already working non-programming jobs. They had this mindset that — “I ll start working on a project at the Job itself when I am getting paid. For now just teach me theory”.

I mean, It made sense on other jobs, where we don’t have free resources to simulate a Project but it was SO WRONG for programming jobs where we can recreate any technical undertaking from our personal laptop in the comfort of our room. “DIY projects are the best way to learn Programming”. Someone with an active project portfolio and opensource contributions will always outmanoeuvre you.

So to show how easy it is to get started with your own live project I picked and started likhaa.com.

What happened in last 2 years for likhaa.com?

• Likhaa became a medium to begin opensource journey. We had multiple first-time contributors on our codebase at Gitlab.
• Our Discord group grew to current 28 members. We meet and greet every sunday afternoon IST.
• We closed a lot of big issues recently like TypeScript migration.
• We have an ongoing Product roadmap for beginners with some interesting AI features for shape detection.
• We started a Figma wireframing and Design system program.

Where are we heading ?

The core philosophy for likhaa.com will always be

1. No nonsense user experience.
2. No libraries, we code our own libraries if need be.
3. Keep exploring the potential of native features offered by the browser.
4. Always welcome beginners and help them overcome any technical obstacles.

Btw, We have an interesting backlog of cool features here. Things like —

• AI shape detection and lot more interesting things to come.
